At Classync, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We offer refunds in accordance with our payment processor's policies. Before subscribing, we encourage you to try our free tier (3 hours/month) to ensure the service meets your needs.
1. 14-Day Refund Policy
In accordance with Paddle's Buyer Terms and Consumer Rights, Classync offers a 14-day refund period from the date of your initial purchase.
Eligibility for Refunds
- 14-Day Window: You may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial subscription purchase
- First Subscription Only: The 14-day refund right applies to your initial subscription, not to automatic renewals
- Important Exception: By downloading or using the Service (uploading lectures, generating AI summaries, taking quizzes), you consent to immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that you will lose your right to refund once service usage has begun
- Unused Subscriptions: If you have not used any premium features within 14 days of purchase, you are eligible for a full refund
Try Before You Buy
- Free Tier Available: We offer a free tier with 3 hours/month so you can test the service before committing
- Immediate Service Delivery: You gain instant access to all premium features upon subscription
- Digital Service: AI processing costs are incurred immediately when you use the service
- Fair Pricing: Our subscription prices are designed to be affordable (as low as $0.20/hour of lecture)

We strongly recommend:
- Test the service thoroughly with the free tier
- Upload a sample lecture to evaluate transcription and summarization quality
- Try the quiz generation feature to see if it meets your needs

2. Subscription Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.
How It Works
- Cancellation Takes Effect: At the end of your current billing period
- Continued Access: You retain full access until your subscription expires
- Reactivation: You can reactivate your subscription at any time before expiration
To Cancel Your Subscription
- Log in to your Classync account
- Navigate to Settings → Subscription
- Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Follow the confirmation prompts
3. Requesting a Refund
If you are within the 14-day refund period and have not used the service, you may request a full refund.
How to Request a Refund

- Your account email address
- Date and amount of the charge
- Transaction ID or receipt (if available)
- Confirmation that you have not used any premium features
Refund Eligibility Requirements

Note: Refunds are processed at our discretion. If you have used the service (even minimally), you have consented to immediate performance and waived your right to refund under consumer protection laws.
4. Billing Issues and Support

5. Refund Processing

- Processing: 5-10 business days from approval
- Bank Posting: Additional 3-5 business days depending on your bank
Account Access
If a refund is processed, your subscription will be cancelled, and you will lose access to premium features. Your account data will be retained according to our Privacy Policy.
6. Disputed Charges and Chargebacks
If you notice an unauthorized charge or billing error:

Please contact our support team before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We can often resolve billing issues quickly and avoid complications. Chargebacks can result in:
- Immediate account suspension
- Chargeback fees passed to your account
- Loss of access to your data and content
- Difficulty resolving the issue amicably
Unauthorized Charges
If you believe a charge was made without your authorization, contact us immediately at classync.sup@gmail.com with "Unauthorized Charge" in the subject line. We will investigate and resolve the issue promptly.
7. Subscription Plan Changes
If you change your subscription plan (upgrade or downgrade):
- Upgrades: Charged pro-rated amount for remaining billing period; full price at next renewal
- Downgrades: Take effect at end of current billing period
- Paid to Free: Cancellation rules apply; subscription expires at end of period
8. Academic Institutions and Group Plans
For educational institutions or organizations with group plans:
- Custom refund terms may apply as agreed in your contract
- Refund requests must be made by the primary account holder
- Group discounts and bulk purchases may have different terms

Important: While you have the right to cancel within 14 days, by using the Service (uploading content, generating AI summaries, etc.), you expressly consent to immediate performance of the digital content delivery, which results in the loss of your cancellation right under most consumer protection laws.
If local laws provide greater rights, those laws will apply. Our refund policy complies with applicable laws and Paddle's Buyer Terms.
10. Currency and Exchange Rates
Refunds are processed in the original transaction currency. If exchange rates have changed between purchase and refund, the refunded amount in your local currency may differ from the original charge. We are not responsible for exchange rate fluctuations.
11. Policy Updates
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Changes to the refund policy do not affect existing subscriptions purchased before the policy change. The policy in effect at the time of purchase applies to that transaction.
